annu bio + artist statement

I am a sonic and immersive artist, guided by the conviction that “beauty will save the world.” Through audio-visual storytelling performances shaped live with synthesizers and MI.MU music gloves, I conduct sound and light through gesture, creating a Future Dream Pop landscape that invites audiences into otherworldly realms.
Rooted in music as my first language, my practice has expanded over the past decade from releasing records and touring stages to immersive installations, planetarium experiences, and visual storytelling. Across these mediums, I explore our relationship with the Cosmos: both the vast universe beyond us and the boundless interior within.
My work has brought me into unlikely spaces for a musician, from creating storytelling experiences with astronauts to scoring Earthlight, an immersive planetarium dome show created with astronaut Dr. Sian Proctor, to developing live performances in which music, movement, light, and story become a single experience. Through each, I return to the same question: can art shift our perspective enough to help us see ourselves, one another, and this extraordinary world differently?
Becoming a mother has brought new clarity to that pursuit. Matrescence has deepened my desire to create work that nurtures presence, awe, and interconnectedness: values I hope to pass on to my daughter and carry into the worlds I create.

My debut EP, LOVE, and debut album, EXPERIENCE, were released in 2024. I am now writing the next chapter of annu: new music and new forms of immersive storytelling that continue to blur the boundaries between concert, cinema, installation, and ritual.

For me, creation is ultimately an act of connection: a way of unveiling the beauty already around us and remembering our place within something much larger than ourselves.
