I’m preparing for shows again, and I’m excited to share my progress as I build the sounds on my midi controllers/drums/music gloves! A lot of my songs are full of layers, and this is no small feat. So, to get some momentum flowing, I threw on my gloves and opened one of the simpler songs I already had prepped.

Hello beauties! Do you happen to have a 5.1 surround sound system?? If so, I have a special treat for you. My friend, Cosmic Perspective colleague, and Audio Artist Extraordinaire, Andrew Keating, made a STUNNING surround sound mix of my song “Remember.” Assuming you have your 5.1 audio system and YouTube settings configured to communicate to your hardware… you should be able to hear this in all it’s glory!

I’ve been eager to connect more often here and felt compelled to just share a little bit about what’s going on in my world. But, I honestly always feel strange sending out a one-way communication. I want to hear back but I don’t feel that people often want to log into Patreon and make a comment. I wonder if, instead, anyone would be interested in a casual monthly Zoom or Google Hang meet-up, where we can talk about music, life, the universe, everything…?

I have already clicked that magical little “Publish” button, which has fired the songs off to all of your favorite digital streaming platforms… but that feels a bit anticlimactic, doesn’t it? Thankfully, I have another gift in store:

Today, I wanted to share a short improv piece I performed with my music gloves. In the video, I explain how I’m creating these sounds and dive into an ethereal performance, followed by a poem I wrote for my growing family. This was inspired by a really spacious moment I had while contemplating our baby girl’s arrival. This afternoon, I have an appointment with my Doc to discuss inducing my labor… potentially this week, maybe next. It’s become so real. I’m feeling more spacious, relaxed… I’m pausing quite a bit to contemplate this transition and all of the beauty Zoe will bring.
