OVERVIEW
An Immersive Meditation

This intimate 360 audio-visual experience takes its audience on a sonic journey from Earth to space, instilling a sense of presence and awe that is so common to the astronaut’s experience of the Overview Effect.

A powerful yet soothing Dolby Atmos surround sound experience delivers the soundtrack, which lifts the audience to space for a moving and peaceful journey through the cosmos and back to self.

OVERVIEW was designed, produced, and composed by Annu alongside an amazing crew of collaborating artists: Nick Jones and Pablo Todd co-produced and mixed the soundtrack while Videoso reinterpreted Annu’s imagery into abstract visuals that grace the ceiling. The piece was curated by Lacho Villanueva at SOMOS Immersive Creators and premiered at Palacio del Hierro in Mexico City in June 2023. A new version of the dome experience debuted in the large Visions of the Future dome at the Texas Eclipse festival during the total solar eclipse in April 2024.

An Immersive Journey through Space and Time

Personal and intimate yet powerful and awe-inspiring. Cosmic Perspective is an immersive, audio-visual show that lifts audiences to space to gift them the astronaut’s perspective of our stunning planet. Upon returning to Earth, we ponder the ways that we take our humanity with us wherever we go.
Annu’s personal astronaut interviews are weaved throughout the show to gift the audience a taste of “The Overview Effect” — a shift in perspective that elevates empathy, clarifies the interconnectedness of life on Earth, and inspires action to better care for our planet.
Annu uses her awe-inspiring MI.MU gloves to control the music, lighting, and visuals for the show. Capturing the imagination of the crowd, she moves her way through sound, pulling her instruments, music, and astronaut’s voices out of thin air as she narrates our journey to space.

A Box-Breathing Meditation

Take a pause, take some breaths. This box-breathing meditation will guide you through 4 seconds of inhales – holds – exhales – and holds. It will help calm you and is especially useful in moments of stress, anxiety, or overwhelm.

I composed this soundtrack to the rhythm of my own box-breathing during a time when I needed it most. My ultimate goal is to create a real space, like the virtual room pictured here, where people can spend time relaxing in a nurturing environment, with slow-fading softly-colored lights and an ethereal soundtrack that eventually fades out to silence. Meanwhile, this video is meant to be a resource and inspiration for what’s to come.
